I could mirror the modem port on the router in DD-WRT and view all the connections, but my laptop seems to be one of the worst "offenders" and that would be what I'd be using to sniff the connection. I've looked into WireShark, but I'm a novice at this stuff and it seems like some of my devices may not be getting sniffed by it over WiFi. Why?įrom what I understand, this would indicate that some device must have been hogging my bandwidth. I turned on QoS and now I am getting 50Mbps with 3-30ms ping to router. Not good!ĭirect Connection to Modem Speed: ~100Mbpsĭirect Connection to Router Speed: ~300Mbps (?)Ĭhannels were checked and router moved to less noisy channel, little to no change in speeds.Įdit: The issues were present on both 5GHz and 2.4GHz, but the worst issues were on the 2.4GHz. One minute I test 280Mbps, the next I test 24Mbps. However, the problem is that it is intermittent. My problem was still there, but the speed was slightly increased. I had noticed that my download speeds were awful, but my upload speeds looked just fine.Ĭomcast called today and said they fixed their issue. I called Comcast and they mentioned that my upstream power (Download speeds) was low, potentially indicating some sort of issue. I don't see any device using too much data for a 150Mbps connection. So after 6-8 months with no reason to install it, I finally did. I had been meaning to install DD-WRT on my TP-Link Archer C7 because of the amount of diagnostic and monitoring tools it gives you (I like to know these things).

I majorly noted that my download speeds and ping speeds are atrocious over WiFi. I never had a single issue with my internet, then a few days ago I started having issues where sites were loading slow and I would click a link and have to wait 2-3s for page to begin loading. The worst part is that I live alone, so it shouldn't be so difficult.

I've been dealing with some network issues for a few days, and I can't figure out what it is.
